Photo Shoot #1:School
Evaluation
WWW--I like these images especially since there my first lot.I have cropped these images due to negative space which wasn't needed. These images was very easy to take considering edges are in your day life so you get a clear understanding of what your looking for to take these images. I like these images as there are more than 1 edge in each photo which made it better as you can find others. I was going to do them in edit but I thought it can be a lot different so I just wanted to see the full detail of the edges. I also used an app called hipstamatic.
EBI-What I don't like about some of these images is that maybe if I got a bit closer to my target of the edge that might of made it a lot better as there is no need for to much negative space but in most of them the space is positive. What I can / could improve on within these images would to be taking longer to take them and to think about it more clearly instead of just capturing it without looking of whats in the image and what I could do to make the image even more better before capturing it.

WWW-What went well in these images would be that the edges stand out and when you look at it you can clearly see the edges within these images. These images are very clear and no blurred bits out as the image is directly at the edges. There are many different edges within these images for example, curved edges, straight angled edges.
EBI- I dont mind these images there is a lot more i could have done to make these images better but the equipment i used wasnt really good as i used an ipod and you cant really do much with an ipod camera to focus the edges in the photo. The edges might not have been clear of what the edges i was looking at but you might look at other edges within the image.

WWW- These images are the best images i have taken so far, the angles are fantastic. What i like about these images is that i got the angles in focused and the rest is blurred out. The blurred out bits are mostly the negative space or background which is not needed. The main focus is on the edges but many hasn't been blurred as there are many types of edges within the image for all to see. The contrast in these images are good as it doesnt just sharpen when blurring out the negative space it blends in within the image that has been captured. What else i like about these images is that it has a wide landscape, instead of me cropping to just focus on the main thing i have not done you can see a wide range of things within the image.
EBI- What i could of done to make these images much better is to crop out things that didn't relate to edges or i didn't want in the image when capturing it.There is an image where the water fountain has my hand in it but it wasn't supposed to be in the image. maybe these images would of gone better if i went for a theme within edges for example, nature. This would of been better as to have a theme would of made it clear of what the images are about instead of taking the images of what ever edge i see this also brings it to another thing i could of done would be to think of what im going to take before just taking the image as it would turn out much better.

WWW: I really like these images as most of them are of nature, and i think its good that i have taken images of nature and not of nature as you can see the differences in which edges are shown within nature and not in nature. I like these images the most as the lighting was really good as it was really sunny out side so it made the images stand out more. I like these images as most of the images are blurred out so you have your main focus in it as it looks more better and professional. Some of the images have objects that stand out , for example because of the colours within these images from the colour of the background or its surroundings.
EBI: The things that i could of done better would of been to actually show the edges within these images and maybe edit them and put arrows to the edges so people could know what the edges are within these images. I also would like to take an image with as many different edges within the image so it looks more interesting to look at. i would also of liked to add more colour to these images to not make them so dull to make then more better to look at.

Before and after
These images have different types of edges on, what i like about these images is that the feather stands out the most in the none edit one but in the edit picture which was edited on photoshop, the grass stands out the most as the green is bright which takes the attention away from the feather. There are some bits in the image that has been blurred out to make other things stand out and to make the image better. what i don't like about these images is the way i took it, i think that i should of gone further away to take the photo to have more of a wider landscape, so maybe other things in the image may look interesting as in this image its clear its about the feather as its the only object that stands out.
WWW- I like these images as in my opinion they looked good without even being edited. These images wasn't thought out it was just at the moment when i came across some edges. I like some of the texture in these images for example, the floor you can see the rough texture to it but with the bin it looks smooth. I like some of these images because of the sky as it depends on the weather to know what your pictures will look like. For example, if the weather is cold then your images may have a dark tone to them and will look misty , if its sunny then your images will come out light and will look positive.
EBI- what i think would of gone better in these images if that there was more brighter colours and that if maybe i edited them to make things focus and out of focus as some images i want certain things to stand out that i notice which people may not see and to block out any of the negative space which is not needed and don't really need to be there.what i think would be better if i had a theme to them instead of having them all different.

I have displayed the images in this way so that I can look for the similar shapes. These images have a lot of negative space. Most of these images have zig zag in them without my even noticing. These images have very sharp edges, so you can identify the edges straight away as they stand out. In my opinion these images out of the lot are the most colourful, and in good detail.
Display Strategies
These are display strategies that i have chosen, i like these as they are interesting
and looks creative. The one i like more is the collection on the wall as you can
see the pictures as a group so you can see what is similar and what they all look
like together. But overall they all look chaotic so it makes it look more interesting to look at as
if it was just 5 images you would get bored of looking at just them but if you
was to look at them as a big group you would be interested in looking at the images
and what they have in general and why they have been put like this.

Final piece
Final Evaluation
When we first got this project and got given a range of different type of topics, I picked edges because I knew that edges is a day to day life thing, its easy to seem, and find. I was going to choose disguise to challenge my self but I just took the easy option but at times I had to challenge my self as when taking the pictures it looked boring and had to find inspiration else where. I then started to look into some photographers that have done edges, a range of photographers with different aspects of edges and what they do different in which I found laura letinsky ,Jed Devine, Jan Groover and Uta barth. I got inspired by pinterest a lot and found out new things. I then started to gather up ieas and use popplet and use another website for a spiderdiagram, this would of capture all my ideas, it really helped as I started to refer back to the popplet as a help and to inspire how I take pictures and what I should do . There was time where I would think and realise that my photos wasn't that good is it because I didn't really plan out and have a theme when taking my images , or was it because I wasn't being creative. But I got advice from fellow class mates and realise your images don't have to be perfect, anything is photography so that really got my confidence back on track and started taking on board what every one was saying to improve my project.
when I started the project my photos wasn't good but after researching further into the artists I started to get inspired, the artist that inspired me the most would be Jan Groover, I wouldn't say she inspired me by her theme but inspired me to capture images at different angles to capture the best parts. I did get inspired by Laura Letinsky but it didn't go well , the images I took didn't go to how I would of planned them to but she did inspire me to try different things out and do new experiments. Half way into the project I kept asking my self questions like , if I chose the right topic, or what if edges is not interesting enough but I guess I could not change the topic so I just had to get on with it and put 110% into it.
Taking images at home of edges I didn't think was going to be hard but it ended up that it was actually difficult todo as there is not many interesting things to capture but i found things and even though they wasn't good they still had edges in and that's all what matters. I then realised i had to start coming up with themes to make it better and to have an overall idea of what im going out to take images of, for example i chose 'nature' as nature is a nice theme to take images of and you can capture so many things that you might not see when just seeing nature on a daily basis. so i then got an idea of what i was looking for and pinterest helped me with that as there was many ideas and what other people would do, so my images then started to get a bit more interesting so that meant i had a lot to say in the evaluation.
Doing a final piece was going to be hard as i was a bit late starting it as was mostly focused on my website but when coming todo my final piece most of the ideas i had was taken and used by other people and i wanted mine to be unique and that no one could of thought about doing it but i guess it had to be simple as im not really an imaginative person. But overall i liked the project even though having ups and downs but im glad i chose edges as it was easy even though at times i had to challenge my self but i wish i planned things out more to make my work better and to do more experiments to know what i can do better and to improve on.
